Building Our Power: Georgia Results of The Black Census Project

About this Event

The problems facing our communities are complex and we know that the solutions require experimentation, innovation and political power. On Tuesday, October 15th, please join the Black Futures Lab and Southerners on New Ground (SONG), along with host committee members: Black Voters Matter, Fair Fight, Georgia Stand-Up, Pro Georgia, Women of Color Initiative, and National Georgia Project for an evening of dialogue and strategy building.

We will be looking at the Georgia results of the Black Census Project - the largest survey of Black people in the United States in 150 years. We're tackling some of the most pressing issues affecting our community and developing plans to drive sustainable change and activate our full power at a local level.

To request interpretation or childcare for the event, both of which will be provided free of charge, please follow the link: https://forms.gle/c6vQ4SRCYbPiPGiD9. All requests must be made by Friday, October 11th.

Collectively, we will transform our community and create the future we deserve!

See you there.

“Black people have always played a role in unlocking the promise of an America that has not yet been realized, and if there was ever a time to tap into that power—it’s now.”

-Alicia Garza, Principal at Black Futures Lab
