A common concern people have when first encountering my work relates to how we might rebuild our lives and communities after the fires of doubt, self-critique and complexity have burned bright. In short, what happens after we've set light to some of the negative parts of our religious past?
In this intimate all-day event we'll explore how the real challenge actually lies in keeping that white-hot fire lit; building our lives around it, within it, and astride it. During the sessions we'll explore a truly liberating understanding of faith that keeps this purifying fire alive. A faith that has the power to impact our individual lives, our relationships, our communities and even our country.
What to Expect
We'll be gathering together at 10am for some coffee/tea and a chance to meet everyone. Over the course of the day I'll be offering some ideas, engaging with questions and attempting to wrestle with some of the issues that you bring to the table. I'll be offering an introduction to pyrotheology and looking at it how it can help promote and build healthy community. If you're able to make this a two-day trip, you can come to the community I'm part of in LA on the Sunday morning to see what pyrotheology looks in practice. You'll hear me speak, and then afterwards, we'll all go to my favorite coffee shop for a debrief.
Who Should Come
This day will be of primary interest to faith leaders, activists, therapists and those more generally interested in fostering healthy community. It will also be of value to those who are moving out of a restrictive religious past and attempting to cultivate a richer, more expansive faith. Finally, the material will also be of use to those wanting to nurture better personal relationships and a more grace filled life.
