Panelists Bios

Adam Erdmann, Senior Community Affairs Program Manager at Alliant Energy

Adam works with nonprofit and community organizations on behalf of Alliant Energy. This includes grant making, corporate sponsorships, and volunteer activities in the communities the company serves throughout Wisconsin and Iowa. Prior to arriving at Alliant Energy, Adam spent 12 years working in the nonprofit sector. He earned his master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy, and has worked in nonprofit agencies managing fundraising, membership, and volunteer programs. At Alliant Energy, Adam chairs the Equality Alliance ERG, an ERG for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. He is also a member of the company’s newly created Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership team – a team dedicated to creating measurable impact on Alliant Energy’s workplace and diversity efforts.

Mikayla Frick, Inclusive Excellence Consultant at American Family Insurance

Mikayla is an Inclusive Excellence Consultant for American Family Insurance in Madison, Wisconsin. She oversees the strategy and operations of the company's nine Business Resource Groups. Mikayla has been with the evolving and growing Inclusive Excellence division since May of 2018 when she started with the organization as a student intern. One of her first projects in her internship was leading a volunteer team in the development and launch of the company's newest Business Resource Group at the time, the Abilities BRG.

She remained with the team through the remainder of her college career up until December 2019 when she accepted a full time role with the Fortune 500 mutual company. At this time she also graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Human Resource Management and served as the class of Fall 2019 commencement student speaker.

Natalie Simmons, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (GDEI) Specialist at Zendesk

Natalie has been with Zendesk for 4 years, the last 2 years as a member of the Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (GDEI) team. As part of her role, she has had the opportunity and privilege to build Zendesk’s ERG program from the ground up twice, with ERG 3.0 on the way. Zendesk currently has 8 ERGs with over 40 ERG chapters located around the world. Program managing the global ERGs has given Natalie the opportunity to build relationships across Zendesk’s global offices at all levels, learn about the unique cultural nuances that exist across regions and specific countries, and build relationships with ERG Leaders and members who have become their team's biggest champions, creative inspiration, and thought partners.
