Please join us for a day of presentations and discussion on the research conducted by Building Innovation Partnership in collaboration with our industry partners. Learn how our innovative research has been conducted and applied to industry to advance civil engineering in Aotearoa/ New Zealand.

Theme One
Better Decision Making in Three Waters 10:30 – 11:30
The aim of theme one is to develop data driven insights into New Zealand’s Three Waters infrastructure. Dr Theuns Henning will be presenting an overview of this work programme and its associated projects including industry impact.
Theme Two
Digital Engineering 11:30 – 12:30
Theme 2 aims to determine the reliability, accuracy, ease of use, advantages and disadvantages of innovative digital building technologies and how well they meet the information needs of owners, users, designers, engineers, manufacturers and builders. Professor Robert Amor will lead the discussion on AI, BIM to BAM and other related projects.

Theme Three
Fit for Purpose Building Components 14:00 – 15:00
Theme Three is based around improving the resilience and sustainability of buildings by developing products, systems and design methods for the non-structural elements of buildings. Prof Rajesh Dhakal will lead the discussion on industry impact and latest research.
Theme Four
Low Carbon and Climate Resilient Infrastructure 15:00 – 15:30
The latest theme for BIP aims to identify and characterise ‘best’ pathways and technologies for reducing carbon emissions from buildings, construction and communities. Discussion on this emerging theme is led by Prof Larry Bellamy.
