Description

An Art and Card Making Workshop

This holiday season join True Center for a creative, warm and uplifting exploration of hope and light through artistic expression. This workshop is a joyous way to focus during the busy season of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa (and more) without being overwhelmed in frantic energy. Throughout the world, the progression into the season of shorter days and longer nights is expressed through festivals and celebrations.

The focus of this 3-hour workshop is exploring hope and light through art projects and thoughtful writing. Participants will find inspiration while exploring traditional festivals of light and hope from around the world, including Sweden’s beautiful Festival of St. Lucia.

The workshop includes the following projects:

  • Self-expression through thoughtful writing;
  • the creation of unique handmade cards using a rich variety of materials as well as integration of personal writing; and
  • creation of a small personal art object that can inspire mindfulness during the busy holiday season.

This workshop is facilitated by Gayle Torres, Board-Certified Art Therapist, who has over a decade of experience in clinical and wellness settings including work with cancer survivors.

Workshop length: 3 hours

Workshop fee: $65*

*All materials will be provided as well as light refreshments.
