Event description

Description

Join Product Tank SF and Jay Haynes, Founder thrv for a hands on experience on building high-growth products with JTBD.

This workshop will help product teams use the jobs-to-be-done method to launch successful products.

JTBD has been popularized by Harvard Business School’s Clay Christensen, and the basic idea is that customers are not “buying” a product (e.g. a CD, record, MP3, or iPod), they are “hiring” a product to help them get a job done (e.g. curate music).

Products and technologies change over time, but a JTBD does not. This has implications for every part of the product management process: including choosing a market, segmenting customers, pricing a solution, generating product ideas, and prioritizing a product roadmap.

By the end of this workshop you will learn:

  • how to use JTBD methods to build and prioritize a product roadmap that will beat the competition in your market.
  • how to identify the job your customer's are hiring your product to do,
  • how to identify your customer's unmet needs using the JTBD,
  • how to identify your competitor's weaknesses using unmet needs in the JTBD, and
  • how to create high-growth product ideas that will deliver more customer satisfaction and accelerated revenue growth.

This workshop is for:

  • Senior PMs at companies with 100 or more employees, and a B2B/B2C product
  • Experience in building and prioritizing product roadmaps.
  • Responsible for making or contributing to roadmap prioritization decisions.
