Event description

Description

Whether you are new to homeschooling this year, in the midst of your homeschooling adventure or almost at the end of your homeschooling journey, you are invited to our special MOM weekend event! Homeschooling moms need a break to refresh their minds, a day to fortify their plans and a time to edify each other! Come join us for a weekend of refreshment, fellowship, and worship.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29TH (6:30-9:30): Homeschool High School (Dad's Welcome/ Date Night): Carrie & Michael De Francisco will explain CA requirements for graduation, how to use the CHSPE as a diploma and how to use community colleges and CLEP tests for dual credit. Then a panel of homeschool graduates will share how they met CA requirements, started their own businesses, and used internships and traveling as part of their high school journey at home. There will also be a Q & A session at the end so Dads are invited to come and encouraged to ask questions too. (Dads are FREE!)

SATURDAY, MARCH 30TH: Worship, Speakers & Fellowship

(8:30) Doors Open and Fellowship Time

(9:00) Worship

(9:15) Facing & Defeating Obstacles (Book of Joshua Study): If you feel like you are marching around in circles or the homeschooling task at hand seems insurmountable, join us Saturday morning. Carrie De Francisco will teach from the story of Jericho, and how we can apply the principles of Joshua 5-6 to our ministry of motherhood and our calling to homeschool. Whatever your "Jericho wall" is, you will be encouraged in our first session to follow God’s commands and will be given modern-day tools to “bring those walls a tumbling down.”

(10:15) Break

(10:30) Parting the Red Sea (Games Curriculum & Gameology): This session will be full of fun and games! Owners of Excellence in Education (EIE) and co-creators of the Games Curriculum, Marty and Carolyn Forte, will share how to use games to teach any and all skills and school subjects! Using their Games Curriculum and many years of experience, they will share some of their favorite games for teaching such subjects as math, science, grammar, history, and art, just to name a few. They will also have on display and for sale many of the games used in their Games Curriculum.

(11:30) Lunch, Fellowship, and EIE Shopping

(12:45) Worship

(1:00) Manna and Miracles ( A Mom / Daughter Journey and Testimony): Fellow homeschooling mom, Alexandra Strauss will share her story. Through Alexandra’s testimony, we will learn how to expect and to accept God’s daily provisions (His manna) and how to see and appreciate God’s big and small miracles in our lives.

(2:00) Break

(2:15) Building Hearts & Homes For Christ (Choosing Character over Curriculum): Carrie De Francisco will share how our child’s academic and social needs will eventually fall into place if we focus on building first the kingdom of God. Tons of “how – to’s” and tried and true ideas will be shared. God does redeem the time, reward our efforts and turn our ashes into beauty when our homeschool focus is truly on building Character instead of finishing Curriculum.
