Effective teamwork is essential in today’s world, and a critical responsibility for every member of a team – leaders, staff, board members, and volunteers alike. Simply putting people together doesn’t make them a team, and we have all experienced that working together has gotten increasingly more complex since the days of playing in the sandbox. Research shows that people working together can achieve more than individuals can on their own, so how can you help facilitate the process to make your teams more effective?
Join us for an interactive session where we both examine team life (whether you’re staff or board) and provide tools and answers to questions such as:
- What behaviors drive performance?
- What makes developing teams in nonprofits more challenging than in the business sector?
- What is the role of trust in building a team and can we help it along?
- Why are some teams extraordinary and some are simply ordinary?
- And finally, what can we learn from geese?
Susan Newton of Development Strategies Plus will be leading the session.

The Non-Profit Learning Center
