About this event

With online interactions becoming a daily necessity of individuals and organizations and the commitment of the Federal Government to leverage the inherent opportunities in the digital economy ecosystem for socio-economic growth, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) are recognizing the importance of taking action to increase digital inclusion.

Because digital inclusion is a complex and community-wide goal requiring a multi-sector coalition as reflected in the Nigerian National Broadband Plan and National Digital Economy Plan and Strategy, we have commenced the development of an easy to adopt Building Digital Communities Framework for Action for CBOs across the country to provide local and independent support towards achieving Digital Nigeria objectives.

The framework is designed to engage all sectors - libraries, local governments, local businesses, community-based organizations (CBOs), and other stakeholders to form coalitions and make strategic decisions for local actions towards increasing access to broadband and adoption of digital technologies.

To this end, we are convening the National Community Based Organizations (NCBO) Summit themed, Building Digital Communities for Peace & Development Through Rural Finance Initiatives and Opportunities.
