Learning Objective:
Date: August 3, 2017
Title: Building Department Disaster Preparedness
Description: This seminar is a short “nuts and bolts” effort to help building departments better prepare for natural disaster emergencies and to react more effectively if one occurs in their municipality. In emergency situations, such as floods, tornados or massive soil erosion, it is important that the building department respond immediately, knowledgeably, and effectively for the community. Sound decisions must be made quickly to expedite the inspection and reconstruction process. This seminar provides the guidance to expedite those decisions using the MN Building Official Disaster Preparedness Manual.
DLI approvals: 3-hrs. pending (submitted) for Building Officials.
Date: August 3, 2017
Title: Improving the Efficiency of Your Inspections
Description: Thorough and accurate plan review and field inspections are critical for the completion of code-compliant structures. This interactive seminar uses graphics and site photographs to identify numerous construction elements the municipal inspector must observe as part of the construction inspection process. “What should we know about what we have forgotten?” This seminar will identify processes the inspector can use to expedite field inspections and minimize the potential of missing an item while executing their site inspection checklist.
