Description

Attention: Waterbury Educators, Parents, & Students Register Now!!! #RACCE

We are hosting a two-day conference on December 2nd & 3rd, 2017. This two-day event is a unique professional development and community building opportunity, and we hope you will join us. It’s free but space is limited to 20 educators, 20 parents, and 20 students that work and live in Waterbury.

During the two days, we will facilitate four different workshops designed for educators, parents, and students. They are titled:

1) Uncovering and Addressing Racism in our Schools
2) Identifying and Overcoming Urban Trauma with Culturally Competent Educational Practices
3) Using Yoga and Meditation in our Schools and Homes
4) Advocacy and Activism in Education Reform

Because of the generous support from the Graustein Memorial Fund, the Perrin Family Foundation, and the Connecticut Community Foundation the event is free. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. We believe administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, school psychologists and school social workers, as well as parents and students (13-19), would benefit from the weekend retreat. Hope to see you there.
