Event Details

Social isolation amongst older adults presents a greater health risk than smoking 15 cigarettes daily and has a negative consequence equal to obesity. There are so many proven benefits to high social connection, like 50% increased chance of longevity, faster recovery from disease, and lower rates of anxiety and depression. Volunteer with United Way Young Leaders in collaboration with the Senior Center of Greater Richmond to form connections with elderly community members. Building social connections leads to better health outcomes and stronger community for all of us.
