A competitive salary structure can provide a company with a valuable framework. To be valid and viable, the structure has to be built using the essential compensation methods and practices. This course will help HR professionals to understand the key issues and best practices for salary structure development. It will also address disadvantageous practices that can potentially derail the roll-out and implementation of a salary structure.
Understand what a salary structure is and why a company would want to establish one
Determine when it’s the “right” time for a company to establish a salary structure
Review the best methods for building a competitive and valid salary structure
Understand the realistic timeline and resources needed to develop a salary structure for the first time
Identify the steps that need to be taken to ensure that the structure will continue to be useful and relevant after it’s completed
Consider how best to roll-out and communicate the new salary structure to management and employees
Annette has over 20 years of experience providing advice and assistance to clients regarding a range of compensation issues including Board compensation, senior management compensation, short- and long-term incentive compensation, salary management programs, and total rewards. Annette has expertise determining strategy and design of compensation programs for clients at various business stages and experiencing different issues including private equity transactions, initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganizations, and turn-arounds. She has served clients in a variety of industry sectors with extensive experience in the life sciences, medical device, and technology sectors.
