About Elizabeth Cutler

SoulCycle Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Elizabeth Cutler and her partner Julie Rice are leading a fitness and empowerment revolution. Their vision of a motivational 45-minute indoor-cycling workout combined with a chic branded environment, and “above and beyond” customer service came to life in 2006 in the rear lobby of an Upper West Side dance studio that Cutler found on Craigslist.

Determined to elevate fitness and find an alternative to routines that felt like work, the pair designed an experience that combines inspirational coaching with high-energy music and a full body workout. Today, SoulCycle is a movement that inspires people across the country.

Today, Cutler and Rice continue to innovate and lead the vision of the brand.  Currently, SoulCycle has more than 1,500 employees across the United States and 56 locations nationwide. Riders of all ages have responded to the SoulCycle cardio party with over 90,000 people riding at SoulCycle every week.

Cutler and Rice were honored as Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business, as two of Adweek’s Brand Geniuses, and as Goldman Sachs’ 100 Builders + Innovators. They have been featured on multiple media outlets including: CNN, MSNBC, FOX, Fortune, Elle, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Cutler is a coveted speaker making recent appearances at INC, Google, Facebook, SXSW, and the Summit Series.

Before SoulCycle, Cutler, a native Chicagoan lived and worked in Telluride, Colorado. She’s always loved hiking and hated working out.  SoulCycle has kept her in shape and inspired for the past 10 years. Elizabeth lives in NYC with her husband and two daughters.
