Description

Building Capacity, Building Community: TEF's 1st Annual Employment Social Enterprise Conference

You're invited to the first annual conference for employment social enterprises, designed by the sector, for the sector. Employment social enterprises (ESEs) are businesses that create training and employment opportunities for people facing barriers to employment, including: people with disabilities, newcomers, and people with mental illness.

The goal of the conference will be to build the capacity of the ESE sector, by investing in the exceptional talent of the management staff and board members within our community. The agenda includes opportunities to:
- Network with funders and anchor customers
- Build skills, through workshops on marketing, fundraising, technology, and more
- Engage in one-on-one coaching sessions with a diverse range of experts (e.g. legal, marketing, fundraising, and more)
- Build relationships with peers
- Share best practices from across the region

ESEs are nearing a pivotal moment in the GTA. Anchor institutions, including schools, hospitals, and government are increasing their purchasing from ESEs; a new cohort of socially-minded entrepreneurs are exploring employment social enterprise development; and mainstream businesses are increasingly looking to hire diverse talent – including many of the former employees of ESEs.

This conference is well suited to those that lead ESEs -- Coordinators, Managers, Board of Directors members, and/or staff from ESEs' parent organizations.

Registration is $125 CAD per enterprise. We encourage you to bring up to five people from your enterprise to the conference. If you plan to bring more than five, please contact us. If the registration cost is a barrier for your organization, please reach out to us.

The venue is accessible by ramp in the front of the building. All workshop rooms will be accessible by elevator. Washrooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floor and are accessible by elevator and have accessible stalls.

If you have any accessibility needs or questions, please contact Courtney at cayukawa@uwgt.org.
