Event description
Building Brains: The Latest Science on Brain Development in Early Childhood with the Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences

About this Event

Early childhood is a critical time for brain development, and understanding how children’s brains are developing can help adults make a positive difference during these key years.

We are excited to welcome Amelia Bachleda, PhD, at our ACEs Quarterly series. She will present the most recent science on brain development in early childhood.

Amelia is an outreach and education specialist at the University of Washington’s Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences. As a trained science communicator, Amelia works to put the latest science into the hands of those who can act on it by developing resources and delivering trainings nationwide. She has a PhD in neurobiology and specializes in developmental neuroscience and language learning.

"The Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) is an interdisciplinary center dedicated to discovering the fundamental principles of human learning, with a special emphasis on early learning and brain development" -- I-LABS. Discover more: http://ilabs.washington.edu/
