Description

Learn from a Tier 1 global automotive supplier how you can develop your talent through a successful apprenticeship training program.

This free, peer-to-peer networking session includes:

  • "Closing the Gap with Apprenticeships" - Keynote presentation by Mike Brosseau, president of Brose North America, Inc. Mr. Brosseau explains how the MAT2 program is addressing Michigan’s skills gaps in manufacturing, successfully partnering high schools with community colleges and local employers like Brose, offering students apprenticeships at over 40 companies across Michigan – up from just 31 trainees when the program launched – including 13 MAT2 apprentices working at Brose.

  • Opening by OCC Chancellor Tim Meyer. He will speak about opportunities for prospective students and employers through MAT2, a cutting-edge program designed through the TIA and the Michigan Department of Talent and Economic Development. The MAT2 program provides a path toward earning tuition-free associate degrees while simultaneously getting paid to gain on-the-job work experience in high-paying, high-demand manufacturing careers.

  • The Value of Apprenticeships. Hear from a panel of employers, MAT2 student graduates and program faculty with insights and success tips.

  • Tours of OCC training facilities.
