Event description

Description

The first of three introductory Learning Network workshops, Building a Trauma-Informed Organization, facilitated by Cherene Allen-Caraco, CEO of Peer Builder, will provide an understanding of what trauma and resilience are and discuss how organizations can use this knowledge to strengthen the impact of their services. Attendees will leave with greater insight and tools for building a trauma-informed organization.

Space is limited. Early bird registration ended on September 10; the workshop cost is now $15 per person.

About the facilitator

After many years of living with a variety of trauma-related mental health diagnoses, Cherene Allen-Caraco has made the last 24 years her professional and personal mission to understand what helps and harms others impacted by trauma, mental health and substance use, inclusive of how systems and services can either foster healing, wellness, recovery and a high quality of life or harm the process of recovery.

In 2006, Cherene founded Promise Resource Network, a peer-run organization in Charlotte that helps people create opportunities for wellness, healing and transformation. As the founder and CEO of the organization, Cherene ensures recovery and resilience serve as the agency blueprint and social and system transformation serve as the mission.
