The Atlanta Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects is pleased to host a special general body meeting focused on the role of design and architects in the future growth of City of Atlanta and ways to support the City’s under-served communities.
Under the leadership of Mayor Kasim Reed, the City of Atlanta has begun a robust dialogue to design the vision for a future Atlanta of approximately 1.3 million people in the next 35 years. Through increased dialogue and new initiatives like the Atlanta City Design Project and the new Atlanta City Studio, the City of Atlanta is working to collaboratively design an inclusive vision. Architects and design professionals will play a critical role in helping to accomplish the City's goals. This event will offer a candid panel discussion on how architects and design professionals can play a key role in the future growth of Atlanta and how we can help ensure that our historically under-served communities are not left behind.
The panel will be moderated with questions and answers to ensure a engaging discussion.
Tim Keane - Commissioner of Planning and Community Development; City of Atlanta
Ernestine W. Garey - Executive Vice President and COO, Invest Atlanta
Mtamanika Youngbloood - President and CEO, Sweet Auburn Works, Inc.
Ivory Lee Young, Jr. - Atlanta City Councilmember, Council District 3
Prior to the lecture there will be a V.I.P. reception with opportunities to network with the panel and special guests that are in attendance. Light appetizers, beer and wine will be served. You don't want to miss this very special event! Come out and let your voice be heard!
