Event Details

-- there are a few spots left; see you tonight! --

Do you sit at work surfing sites like Kiva.org wishing you too could be building a scalable web application that effects massive social change (either non-profit or for-profit)?

Do you run or work at a company doing just that?

If so, come out and connect with folks like you looking to build4change -- along with folks from leading non-profits like Kiva.org and cause-oriented for-profits like WorldOfGood.com and Change.org -- at a mixer with limited attendance (75 people).

We'll have founders and/or key people from:
- Kiva
- Room to Read
- Change.org
- World of Good, Inc.
- WorldofGood.com, by eBay
- NetImpact
- CurrentTV
- BetterWorldBooks
- Craigslist Foundation
- ...and several other cause-oriented organizations.

We'll have four types of badges to facilitate a great event: developer, for-profit, non-profit, and [whatever you want :)]

Developers! First off, you don't need to give us your name, but please register so we know to expect youAlso, if you're interested in working with one of the organizations above, send your resume with a cover letter to build4change [at] gmail.  All resumes received by September 30th will be submitted to the companies and investors attending -- if they like what they see, I'm sure they'll keep an eye out for you.

build4change is our second "awareness2action" event; learn about our inaugural event at a2a.eventbrite.com.  Thanks!

SocialEarth, Hub Bay Area & Chronicle Books

SocialEarth is a fresh, entrepreneurial and socially mindful weblog focusing on businesses that are doing good through their work. At SocialEarth, we believe the future of our livelihoods and our world depends on the creation and sustainability of such businesses. Therefore, we seek, promote and support social entrepreneurs, young and old, domestic and international, established and new, who have the audacity to create mindful businesses where profitability is a necessary objective and solving a ‘social ill’ is an imperative.

The Hub is a space for social innovators to work, meet, connect, and inspire. Members come to Hubs across the globe to collaborate, access market opportunities and capital, build community, and scale ideas. It is a place-based and online community of entrepreneurs, freelance professionals, artists, funders, students, mentors, community leaders… amazing people, doing incredible things. We borrowed from the best of a member’s club, business incubator, idea lab, and the comforts of home to create a different kind of space. A habitat for innovators.

One of the most admired and respected publishing companies in the U.S., Chronicle Books was founded in 1967 and over the years has developed a reputation for award-winning, innovative books. The company continues to challenge conventional publishing wisdom, setting trends in both subject and format, maintaining a list that includes fine art titles in design, art, architecture, and photography.
