Build Your Course in Moodle (3 week ONLINE workshop)
Monday, September 16, 2013 at 9:00 AM - Friday, October 4, 2013 at 5:00 PM (CDT)
Learn how to design and customize your online course... while taking an online course!
During week one, you will learn Moodle navigation techniques, create your user profile, edit class settings, add course participants, and begin forming the basic foundations of your course page.
During week two, you will step up your efforts by inserting learning resources and objects into your Moodle class framework. You will add documents and multimedia files, and work with the various communication tools such as messaging, news forums and quickmail.
During week three, you will become immersed in the individual and collaborative possibilities for your class. These activities will include discussion forums, on- and off-line assignments, tests and quizzes, attendance, etc. As you design your course, you will learn how to visually lay out the resources and assignments in a logical, directional, and aesthetic manner.
Part-time faculty who achieve a 70% or better on course assignments will receive a stipend in the amount of $75.00 during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time staff who also teach part-time in Columbia do not qualify for a stipend.
To ensure that participants get the most from our programs, the CiTE now categorizes our offerings by designating the levels of technological knowledge and skill for which the program has been designed.
