Event Details

Dare to Dream: Get STEM! Conference is a FREE fun and inspiring conference geared toward increasing the participation, retention and advancement of the number of Latina girls in science, technology, engineering, and math. Girls and a parent or mentor meet with engineers and scientists who live and work in their own communities, serve as role models at the conference, and as possible future mentors.  They will share details about their career, answer questions, and give you a little taste of daily life in their workplace. The girls will also have a tour of Fermilab, the most advanced high energy physics laboratory in the world.

Students wishing to participate must be a Latina girl in 7th, 8th and 9th grade. The girl must also be accompanied by an adult.

Girls attending our Conference will:

  • Engage in hands-on activities and workshops
  • Become aware of the wide variety of career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math
  • Gain a new enthusiasm for STEM
  • Meet and connect with female role models
  • Learn the importance of taking classes in science, math, and technology in middle school and high school
  • Leave with the knowledge and understanding that women have the capability to be successful in the professions of science, technology, and engineering
  • Get a free conference T-shirt

BREAKFAST AND LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.

Due to the big response to our previous STEM conference, each school is restricted to a maximum of ten girls registered, along with a parent or mentor for each girl.
