HTML is the primary language of the web. Whether you're a beginner who wants to get started in web development, a designer looking to hand-code your own functionality, or a marketer who wants a little more control over your content management system, you'll need to know HTML to get the job done.
This session, designed for the beginner programmer, will assume no previous coding knowledge. We'll go over key coding terminology and principles, diving into the functions of HTML and use that knowledge to build out the framework of your webpage.
We'll be using Mozilla Thimble as our coding tool, which is easily accessibe on the web and where you can share your finished work with anyone outside the class with a simple link!
The second component of this class will delve into CSS, which stands for Cascading Style Sheets. With CSS, you can customize your page elements such as headings, paragraphs, images, tables, buttons, and more. This allows you to control the design of your page without having to rewrite code.
Using these tools, we'll show you how to call out certain elements on your page and set colours, and images to create a super-rich look and design. Encompassing key elements of HTML and CSS, this class will have you well on your way to becoming a web-expert!
This class is geared towards ages 12 and up.
