About the Artists:

Jeff Richards began his exploration into the world of art in his mid-thirties, taking seven years to earn a bachelor’s degree in studio art from San Francisco State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute. He then spent the next seven years forgetting everything he learned in art school – that’s when the real work began. Just before moving to Denver in 2004, he began to explore sewing thread as a medium in his creative work, and eventually embraced it as his primary medium.

Multi-instrumentalist, Chris “Citrus” Sauthoff began playing the violin in the fourth grade and picked up the guitar at age 15. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota in 1988 as a guitar performance major. After a year of being the only “long hair” in the school he considered leaving, but was asked to stay and teach music appreciation. In 1990, he met master musician, D.N. Shukla from Ghorakhpur, India. Mr. Shukla began training Citrus in the art of Hindustani classical music on the sitar and soon became Citrus’ mentor. For the next decades, Citrus traveled the world with P-Funk, playing at the most prestigious venues and festivals such as the Montreax Jazz Festival, the Fuji Rock Fest in Japan and the legendary Apollo Theater. Citrus continues to work as a professional musician in the Front Range area and is also a faculty member at Swallow Hill Music.
