Description

Adventuring in Active Directory

Taught by Eric Kuehn and Alex Rodriguez from Secure Ideas

As a penetration tester, Windows Active Directory is one of our most significant targets. In this workshop, we will explore what AD means to a penetration tester and how it can be attacked. Through a series of hands-on activities, we will cover ways to examine an Active Directory environment, looking for a variety of misconfigurations which are commonly seen in Active Directory implementations (even by some security conscious entities), and then exploit these issues to pivot and escalate our access. Ultimately, the students will gain full control of an AD Forest.

Students will be supplied a Windows Evaluation VM to interact with the lab Domain and Domain Controllers. This environment provides targets and tools, enabling the attendees to understand how the techniques taught are used in the real world.
