About this event
The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of Belgium are delighted to invite you to a presentation and conversation on the Human Development Report 2021/22 'Uncertain Times, Unsettled Lives: Shaping our future in a transforming world'.
Layers of uncertainty are stacking up to unsettle life in unprecedented ways as we lurch from crisis to crisis. As crises, like COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine hit back-to-back, they are also interacted with sweeping social and economic shifts, dangerous planetary changes, and massive increases in polarization. For the first time, the Human Development Index has declined globally for two years in a row.
The 2021/22 Human Development Report looks at how uncertainties can be turned from a threat to an opportunity and charts a new course to unlock opportunities for a more hopeful future for all.
