Brush Lettering 101 (Ages 16 through Adult)

Brush lettering is a popular and versatile writing style that you’ll love to do. No previous experience is needed to enjoy an evening of creative lettering, and to gain a skill that you can use for a lifetime. Your experienced instructor will work closely with you as you create letters, words, phrases and short quotes.
In this introductory workshop, beginners ages 16 through adult will learn:
* How to write with a pointed brush marker
* The basic strokes for this unique lettering style
* How to create playful practice patterns
* How to form the upper and lower-case brush-lettering alphabets
Note: All materials are included! You'll receive:
* A black brush-lettering marker
* Helpful handouts
* Lined paper
* Information on additional brush lettering supplies
Registration for this workshop ends on March 27. Space is limited to 12 participants.
Location: This workshop will be held in a classroom on the ground floor of the Christ United Church of Christ, 460 Main Street, Conyngham, PA. Please enter through the front door of the church (look for brush lettering signs).
About your Instructor: Debra Dick has been teaching and practicing calligraphy for more than 25 years. In addition to her freelance work, she is a teaching artist with the PA Council on the Arts, and presents lettering workshops for calligraphy guilds in New York City and Philadelphia.
