The Brunei Chevening Youth Forum (BCYF) is a platform that brings together young leaders and Chevening alumni members from Brunei and the Region to discuss insights, challenges and opportunities to the development of Brunei as the platform aspires to promote youth participation and leadership in economic, national and regional development.

The BCYF hosted since 2015 has brought together over 1700 young leaders to engage in the 12 forums and talk series. The forum was expanded to Malaysia and named ASEAN Chevening Youth Forum in March 2018, hosted in partnership with Chevening Alumni Malaysia and was followed with the second edition in Indonesia in Jan 2019 on 4th Industrial Revolution, hosted in partnership with Chevening Alumni Indonesia.

The 13th Edition of the Brunei Chevening Youth Forum will center on the theme “Smart Youth for a Smart Nation” as a response to Brunei’s current transformative phase of socio-economic development driven by digital transformation underpinned by the 4th Industrial Revolution which calls for our youth to be leaders and co-creators in the realisation of a Smart Nation. As such, the forum aims to collectively empower young people’s participation and leadership towards shaping the future of Brunei.

It is also served as the post symposium from the recent Perspektiv (4th Edition) x Impact Dialogue and Youth Town Hall, various points were raised including the importance of preparing for a smart nation.
