About Domingo en Familia:

Join us at Cantina Cumbancha for a lovely meal and enjoy the work of visual artist Cuevawolf, who’s debuting and discussing La Lotería Viva, the first photographic representation of the traditional Mexican lotería game made with people and real objects. The series aims to increase awareness and appreciation of Mexican culture through a contemporary lens.

Tacos de Barbacoa - Three lamb barbacoa tacos prepared on handmade tortillas topped with cactus, habanero, and chile morita.

Tacos Mañaneros - Three handmade tortillas filled with eggs and Mexican chorizo or pastor, pico de gallo, avocado, and cilantro, topped with chipotle aioli.

B.L.T. Egg Sandwich - Bacon, lettuce, tomato, scrambled eggs, avocado, refried beans, chipotle aioli, and tortilla chips on the side.

Chilaquiles - Crispy corn tortilla with your choice of green tomatillo or smoky red morita sauce, with two eggs overmedium, chicken or pastor on top, fresh crema and queso fresco.

Mixed Berry Pancakes - Gluten-free pancakes with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, maple syrup, and a side of apple-smoked bacon.

About La Lotería Viva
La Lotería Viva consists of 54 images, each representing a card from the lotería deck. This remarkable collection offers an escape into a world that exists between reality and fantasy. Just like Mexico itself, it evokes a strong sense of magical realism. The photographs make up an extraordinary exhibition that embodies the country’s spirit and resurgence in an unprecedented way. Artist Cuevawolf was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and currently resides in New York City. Her work explores themes such as feminism, social science, the divine, and self-identity through storytelling.
