About this Event

Pipelines and Climate Change: Getting Past the Controversy

Featuring Mitchell Beer

Thursday July 25 @ 12-1 pm

Pipeline battles in Canada have degenerated into a toxic either-or between climate protection and what many Albertans still see as their province's future. But the Alberta oil boom is being shut down by basic economics, fossil companies are automating jobs as fast as they can, and energy efficiency is ready to roll as one of the province's next big employers. This BBL session will separate myth from fact and get at the common ground that makes climate action an economic winner for all.

Longtime Impact Hub member Mitchell Beer is publisher of The Energy Mix , a free e-digest on climate change and energy, and President of Ottawa-based Smarter Shift Inc.

Brown Bag Lunches are free for members but open to everyone. Remember to bring your lunch! 🙂
