Event description

Description

We are pleased to announce that Broward County has been awarded a free Urban Green Infrastructure (GI) Lab by Earth Economics.

This interactive training is designed to grow the capacity of municipal and local leaders to effectively scale investment and adoption of green infrastructure assets, through hands-on exercises and facilitated sessions. We will bring together multiple municipal and community partners to work through barriers, identify actionable steps, and ultimately advance a collective vision of adopting GI solutions at a scale necessary to simultaneously attract investment, meet critical service delivery targets, and create a more livable and resilient community.

The October workshop will address these topics, with a focus on cross-jurisdictional coordination:

  • Improving existing and/or exploring new regulatory and administrative tools (codes, complete streets requirements) for institutionalizing GI,
  • Incentive-based tools and engagement techniques for encouraging GI adoption among developers, and
  • Exploring new financing options to support municipal implementation.
