Description
Brothers Code
Introducing African American and Latino Young Men to Tech
Technology is everywhere today, but only a tiny fraction of students are learning how to create technology. Brothers Code is part of the larger Hour of Code event that will introduce you to the basics of coding education during National Computer Science Education Week.
Using an online platform (courtesy of CodeHS), Brothers Code will not only introduce you to basic coding, but also provide you with access to a curriculum for continued development. Honoring our commitment to President Obama's My Brother's Keeper initiative, Brothers Code is targeting Black & Latino male youth interested in learning more about tech.
There will be two sessions offered (each limited to 100 students):
- 10am to 12pm - Middle School Session
- 12pm to 1pm – Tech Career Panel featuring developers, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and more (all students are strongly encouraged to attend!)
- 1pm to 3pm - High School Session
**Registration is free. Please note that lunch will not be provided.
QUESTIONS: Email brotherscode2014@gmail.com and we will respond within 48 hours.
