What level do I need to be to join the Brooks rides?

Nothing is rushed at Brooks. Not the weathered charm of a saddle; not the social rides. Anyone is welcome, as long as you're happy pedalling the distance at picnic pace.

Is there a route we can see?

Together with the shops, we're putting pen to paper and plotting routes as we speak. We'll share GPX files with all those registered a few days before the meet date, as well as some basic route notes. We'll also have a short briefing over a brew before departing.

What bike is best for the Brooks rides?

Anything other than an out-and-out road bike, really. Expect to escape on a mix of quiet lanes, cycleways, and gravel tracks. Nothing too off-road to need a mountain bike, but wider tyres would be well-suited. There is also nothing wrong with walking sections if required.

Are the Brooks rides guided?

Let's call them hosted, but self-supported. Arrive as self-sufficiently as possible with clothing layers, tools, bike spares and navigation. The Brooks team will have all of the above, and are happy to lead anyone that would like to ride together, of course.
