Description

Please join NYC Eco-Schools and the Greenpoint Eco-Schools team at PS 110 (124 Monitor Street, Brooklyn) on Thursday, April 21 from 4pm to 6pm for a special BROOKLYN SUSTAINABILITY COORDINATOR GATHERING: CELEBRATING GREENPOINT in honor of Earth Day 2016!

Come and meet NWF Sustainability Coaches Fran Agnone (PS 110), Ali Schuettinger (PS 31), Fai Walker (MS 126) and Tina Wong-Hodgson (PS 34) and learn about the incredible sustainability initiatives they're working on with teacher teams, students, parents, and community members at their respective schools. Learn how they've helped their schools achieve an average 81% school-wide waste reduction, reduce energy use, increase green space, integrate sustainability into the curriculum, and gotten kids outdoors to learn. You'll hear about NWF's Greenpoint Eco-Schools After School program that engages kids in fun, hands-on Green STEM projects that teach them about the Greenpoint community, environmental stewardship, and green careers.

Best of all, you'll hear from student Green Team members about how the Greenpoint Eco-Schools program has impacted them.

We'll also have a ResourceShare for Sustainability Coordinators where educators can bring educational materials such as curriculum, lesson plans, books, recycling signage, resource conservation tools, to swap or share!

Snacks and coffee will be served! We'll meet in the auditorium, 4th floor. This Gathering is free and open to formal and non-formal educators across NYC, parents and members of the Greenpoint community. Please RSVP online here.
