Join us for another one of our oversized Open Curling events! Come for a game (or two) of open curling, beer & snacks. Your ticket gets you access to a whopping THREE HOURS of ice time split into two 1.5hr sessions where during each session you can choose to either play a 6-end pickup game with other attendees or find an open sheet and practice some skills and drills with others. Mix and match between sessions as you like!
Teams and sheets will be assigned on the fly at the event. Make a note of your team or teammates and which activity you would prefer to do for each session in the checkout notes.
Your ticket is good for one (1) player slot. All player slots are first come first served, so if you want to make sure your whole team is signed up, the surest way to do this is to have all your teammates purchase their tickets at the same time. Our events often sell out in a matter of days.
This event is OPEN to Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club members, members of other clubs, and anyone who has taken a Try Curling/Learn to Curl class or Rookie League.
There will be ongoing, indoor and outdoor / socially distanced broomstacking with snacks, beer and water.
Please plan to show up at 6:30pm to account for any traffic, parking or subway delays and so you have time to find your team, complete any waiver paperwork and get out on the ice on time at 7:00!
LOCATION: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park, 171 East Dr, Brooklyn NY 11225. Take the Q train to Parkside Av. or otherwise find your way to the Parkside and Ocean Avenue entrance to Prospect Park, enter the park and walk up the hill.
COVID-19 Guidelines: Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club is committed to conducting a safe season and has developed an extensive set of safety guidelines for game play on the ice, as well as setup, breakdown and broomstacking off the ice. For the 2022-2023 season, the COVID safety regulations will see a few changes from last year.
ALL BLCC CURLERS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED.
ALL CURLERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE BLCC COVID-19 GUIDELINES IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2022-2023 SEASON. Please make sure to review the guidelines on our site before registering and before your event. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at hammer@brooklyncurling.org
REFUNDS & COVID-19: Because of the uncertain nature of curling during the pandemic, we may need to end the season early if there is an outbreak within the club or at the Lakeside facility, or due to changing state & local government mandates or restrictions. BLCC will not be able to issue refunds for cancellations due to any COVID-19 related closures of the league or the Lakeside facility.
WEATHER OR FACILITY CANCELLATION: Because the Lakeside rink is only partially covered, we occasionally must cancel due to extreme weather conditions. If there is a weather cancellation, BLCC will make its best effort to reschedule a cancelled event. BLCC will not issue refunds for any league dates cancelled due to weather.
