Join Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club as an annual Associate Member and be eligible for substitute play in leagues and participation in other open curling events for the 2022-2023 season.

An Associate Membership in Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club entitles you to:

  • Unlimited substitute play during leagues, subject to availability
  • Elgibility to play in open curling nights (individual event ticket prices still apply)
  • Participate in all GNCC and USCA events and competitions

Who can join: Curlers joining BLCC as Associate Members must have prior curling experience, either having taken a Try Curling class with BLCC or curling experience at another club. All ages 21 and up, all genders, all everything else, are very welcome.

Setup and Takedown: BLCC is an all-volunteer club. Curlers will be required to be at the ice at the listed start time of events for sheet setup and ice prep which will allow us to have a timely start and insure that we get in our full 1.5 hours of game play.

COVID-19 Guidelines: Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club is committed to conducting a safe season and has developed an extensive set of safety guidelines for game play on the ice, as well as setup, breakdown and broomstacking off the ice. For the 2022-2023 season, the COVID safety regulations will see a few changes from last year.

ALL BLCC CURLERS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED.

ALL CURLERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE BLCC COVID-19 GUIDELINES IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2022-2023 SEASON. Please make sure to review the guidelines on our site before registering and before your first match. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at hammer@brooklyncurling.org

Location: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park, 171 East Dr, Brooklyn NY 11225. Take the Q train to Parkside Av. or otherwise find your way to the Parkside and Ocean Avenue entrance to Prospect Park, enter the park and walk up the hill.

If you go on to curl in a league this season, you will receive a $75 annual dues fee credit for any 2022-2023 league registrations.

REFUNDS & COVID-19: Because of the uncertain nature of curling during the pandemic, we may need to end the season early if there is an outbreak within the club or at the Lakeside facility, or due to changing state & local government mandates or restrictions. BLCC will not be able to issue refunds for cancellations due to any COVID-19 related closures of the league or the Lakeside facility.

Weather Cancellations: Because the Lakeside rink is only partially covered, we occasionally must cancel due to extreme weather conditions. If there is a weather cancellation, BLCC will make its best effort to reschedule a cancelled event. BLCC will not issue refunds for any league dates cancelled due to weather.
