This event is OPEN to Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club members, members of other clubs, and anyone who has taken a Try Curling/Learn to Curl class or Rookie League.

Come for a game of open curling, beer & COVID-safe outdoor socializing. Your ticket gets you access to 1.5 hours of ice time where you can choose to either play a 6-end pickup game with other attendees or find an open sheet and practice some skills and drills with others. Mix and match as you like, we have SIX open curling sessions available on Sundays and Wednesdays in late March. If you sign up for two Wednesday sessions back-to-back, you can curl for a whole 3hrs straight!

Teams and sheets will be assigned on the fly at the event. Make a note of your team or teammates and which activity you would prefer to do for each session in the checkout notes.

Your ticket is good for one (1) player slot, for one 1.5 hour session. All player slots are first come first served, so if you want to make sure your whole team is signed up, the surest way to do this is to have all your teammates purchase their tickets at the same time. Our events often sell out in a matter of days.

There will be ongoing, outdoor & socially distanced broomstacking with beer and water.

Please plan to show up at the stated start time for your session to account for any traffic, parking or subway delays and so you have time to find your team, complete any waiver paperwork and get out on the ice on time!

LOCATION: LeFrak Center at Lakeside, Prospect Park, 171 East Dr, Brooklyn NY 11225. Take the Q train to Parkside Av. or otherwise find your way to the Parkside and Ocean Avenue entrance to Prospect Park, enter the park and walk up the hill. 

COVID-19 Guidelines: Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club is committed to conducting a safe season and has developed an extensive set of safety guidelines for game play on the ice, as well as setup, breakdown and broomstacking off the ice. For the 2021-2022 season, the COVID safety regulations will see a few changes from last year.

ALL BLCC CURLERS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED.

ALL CURLERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW THE BLCC COVID-19 GUIDELINES IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2021-2022 SEASON. REFUNDS & COVID-19: Because of the uncertain nature of curling during the pandemic, we may be subject to cancelling the event if there is an outbreak within Brooklyn Lakeside Curling Club or at the Lakeside facility, or due to changing state & local government mandates or restrictions. In the event of a shutdown of the curling club by a mandate issued by the federal, state, or local government, BLCC will provide a refund.

WEATHER OR FACILITY CANCELLATION: On rare occasions we have to reschedule or cancel due to weather or facility issues. If this happens, we will attempt to reschedule you. Please check your email on the day of the event to make sure we are still curling. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to reschedule you. If that is the case, you will be refunded.
