The Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra will next perform on December 15, 2013 at the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, a dynamic church located in Brooklyn’s historic Fort Greene neighborhood. The band will perform Duke Ellington’s version of The Nutcracker. Special guests will include John Fedchock, Mark Lopeman, Frank Basile, Seneca Black, and Grammy‐nominated singer Carla Cook.

The Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra (BJO) is a large jazz ensemble firmly rooted in the jazz tradition while also keeping an eye toward the future of creative music. The band’s repertoire includes music from Duke Ellington, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Thad Jones, Gerry Mulligan, and many others.
