Join us for a day to explore the archives and rich history of the oldest performing arts institution in the country, the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Founded in 1861, BAM has hosted over 150 years of diverse programming in dance, opera, music, film, and theatre, paving a path for innovative experiments in performance art and attracting the collaboration of prolific artists along the way. Learn all about the BAM Hamm Archives, their holdings and digitization initiatives, and the integral role this institution has played throughout Brooklyn’s history. The event will be hosted at BPL’s Brooklyn Collection, and the day will conclude with an optional tour of the BAM Hamm Archives at another location. (CTLE Credits: 5)
