The Bronx Writers Center, a program of the Bronx Council on the Arts
presents a special three-week hands-on master class led by
Award-winning writer and teacher, Dianne Sposito.
Meets Saturday Nov 3, 10, and 17th, 10am - 1pm
Pay only $125* for 9 hours of small-group instruction,** discussion and support.
Participants will be invited to read at a year end celebration of Bronx Writers and their work will be included in an anthology.
Storylining-A Hands-on Workshop: How to Harness Your Story!
Week 1: Overview and Introduction; Learn the index card technique of “storylining” (using index cards to harness your story); Work it
Week 2: Working with rough drafts; Maximizing the effects of re-writing; Preparing to polish
Week 3: Presentations of polished work (each student will have a full 15 minutes)
Each student will receive a packet that includes what is coverd in the class, tips, techniques, and a select bibliography compiled expressly for writers.
*No money taken at door. Participants must pre-pay.

In her playwriting life, DIANNE SPOSITO has worked both as a librettist: Commedia Paradia, (Creede Repertory Theatre) Harbledown (Creede Repertory Theatre, The Coterie Theatre) and Heaven in Your Pocket, an official selection of the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival, and dramatist: Almost Full Circle at the Guggenheim, When There’s a Will, They're Away! (Emerging Artists Theatre) and Suddenly, Lasagna! Current projects include: What’ll the Neighbors Think?, Officials of the Stardust Mission and a screenplay, Merely Immortal. In 2011, she was awarded the Bronx Council for the Arts BRIO for playwriting (for Suddenly Lasagna!) and was a guest playwright at LAByrinth Theatre Company’s Intensive Ensemble. Her work has been published by Smith & Kraus and Visible Ink, a literary journal for cancer survivors. Ms. Sposito is a Writing Intensive specialist and teaches in the Department of Speech, Communications & Theatre Arts at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (City University of NY) and is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc.
