Bronson Centre Blanket Exercise - International Women's Day Event
Event Information
About this Event
The Bronson Centre will be joining the global day of celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women, by hosting the KAIROS Blanket Exercise - a unique participatory history lesson, led by Indigenous women Elders, Knowledge-keepers and Educators.
The KAIROS Blanket Exercise program promotes reconciliation through public education and understanding. It fosters equality, truth, understanding, respect and reconciliation among Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.
In partnership with KAIROS and Kateri Native Ministry, the Blanket Exercise will be offered to organizations working within the Bronson Centre on Sunday March 8th, 2020 – International Women’s Day.
This is the first time in the 20-year history of KAIROS and Kateri Native Ministry - as tenants of the Bronson Centre – that the Blanket Exercise has been hosted for members of the Bronson Centre community.
The purpose is to utilize the learning experience to build common understanding of our shared vision, values and aspirations for a more equitable, respectful and just society – celebrating inclusivity and diversity – through shared learning about the history of Indigenous peoples
