Event description

Description

A Roma reporter travels through Europe to find out why his people kept silent so long about their 'Forgotten Holocaust'.

STORY

Roma radio reporter Orhan Galjus, born in Kosovo, travels through Germany, Poland and Kosovo. He wants to know why the Sinti and Roma kept silent about the "Gypsy Holocaust". Orhan speaks with German Sinti that survived Auschwitz and travels to unknown Polish commemoration sites. As the story evolves, the inner drama of the protagonist develops. He fears that future generations become alienated from their roots. What do they have to do to be taken seriously? Why do they deny their origin? What about the current generation? Do they see the parallels between the persecution in history and exclusion and discrimination now?

Orhan Galjus will present his movie.

Other guests and speakers from Gypsy Traveller Roma community.
