Event description

Description

Please join us for the next Broadway Corridor Open House!

You’re invited to join fellow Portland residents, community leaders and project staff at the Ecotrust Building Irving Street Studio in NW Portland for the 4th Broadway Corridor Open House on Tuesday, June 4 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Participation in this project from all corners of Portland is critical to its success. We want to hear from you, your family, and your communities. The Broadway Corridor will connect the Old Town/Chinatown and Pearl District neighborhoods, with the goal to maximize public benefits, particularly to those who haven’t benefited from other urban projects.

To build on the established vision, guiding principles, and project goals from our Steering Committee and public input from our last three Open Houses, we need your input to make the selected “Play” concept the best it can be. With the planning process wrapping up at the end of the summer and agreement negotiations beginning shortly thereafter, we also want to share back the community priorities we’ve heard from you that inform Prosper Portland’s position on the delivery of public benefits.

This will be the last Open House hosted by Prosper Portland to inform the USPS Master Plan and public benefit priorities. Share your thoughts on June 4! Let your voice be heard on how you and your fellow Portlanders will live, work, and play in this new development.

If you cannot attend, check out these opportunities to participate in this phase of the project including:

ABOUT THE BROADWAY CORRIDOR

The Broadway Corridor is an urban development project which will permanently change Portland’s downtown landscape, knit the city together, attract regional, national and international media attention, and catalyze significant private investments. The Broadway Corridor project approach acknowledges historic disparities; considers what is being created for future generations; fosters culture, social equity and inclusion in a genuinely transparent and equitable way; and reimagines how people live, work, enjoy and move through the city.

Four million square feet of development is possible on the Broadway Corridor site, which includes the downtown Portland U.S. Postal Service property. That’s more than three times the combined square feet of the US Bancorp Tower and the Wells Fargo Center, with the potential to add 4,000 jobs and 2,400 new households.
