Dell L. Gines is the senior community development advisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City – Omaha Office. He focuses on innovative community development strategies designed to help transform rural and inner-city communities. Dell is a nationally recognized speaker on the subject of entrepreneurship based economic development and is the author of the Grow Your Own Guide, a short primer on how to build urban and rural economies using entrepreneurship.
As part of Heartland 2050’s Broadly Speaking speaker series, Dell will talk about progressive regional development. The presentation will focus on the shifting entrepreneurial demographics, including the rise of women owned businesses, creating regional entrepreneurial networks, and issues around race and economic development. Dell will provide examples of models that have worked in Wichita and Kansas City.
This event is meant to encourage those who are interested in creating equitable economic development and empowering local communities to start getting engaged with groups working in this space.
