Frequently Asked Questions

When do registrations close?

Registrations close at 11.30pm on Saturday 17 June 2017 so we can advise caterers and others of your attendance and needs. If you need to register after this date, contact the forum coordinators (Michelle 0414813491 or Paul 0418750236 e: forum@broadbandforthebush.com.au) and we will welcome your registration.

What are the themes for this year's Forum.

There are 4 main themes. Within these broad themes, there will be a rich discussion of problems solutions and needs that will grow into the Forum Communique to guide the actions of the Alliance for the next year or until results are on the ground.

  • Digital Inclusion in the Bush – exploring best practice models to facilitate accelerated digital inclusion across rural and remote Australia
  • Regional innovation - from digital isolation to digital revolution
  • Policy and regulation - advancing digital capacity and capability in regional, rural and remote Australia
  • Technology in action - emerging technologies keeping us connected and safe

Where can I find the program for the Forum?

Watch the Broadband for the Bush Alliance website for evolving updates about the program. Exciting keynote speakers (Hint: A masterful Telstra Chief Scientist, Hugh Brownlow, will open a window into the future), panel presenters, discussion and workshop leaders will inform and challenge you while asking for your voice on what matters. The draft program will be available by Wed 22 March 2017 at:

Who are the main speakers at the forum?

You are! This is really a listening forum for the organisers. We want your experience and ideas on the problems encountered by our friends living in regional, rural and remote areas. Workshops will highlight these problems, speakers will share possible solutions and together, we will formulate the priorities for the Broadband for the Bush Alliance to persue in the next year or as long as it takes to get the solutions on the ground. The speaker list will be published on the forum website as speakers are confirmed. Watch this space for more information:
