Britten & Britain
Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 4:00 PM (EDT)
Celebrate the music of the British Isles and of one of their greatest composers, Benjamin Britten, before the Tour Choir departs for London. As part of the program, the Tour Choir will present Britten’s opera written for
the Vienna Boys’ Chorus, The Golden Vanity, a story of a pirate-takeover gone wrong! The opera will be staged in conjunction with UC’s College Conservatory of Music, directed by Omer Ben Seadia.
Featuring all of the choirs of the Cincinnati Boychoir.
When & Where
Founded in 1965, the Cincinnati Boychoir seeks to enhance the social, emotional, and musical development of boys by instilling in them a sense of dedication, self-discipline, and respect. By striving for artistic excellence and learning a diverse repertory of choral literature, the boys are prepared for a lifelong love of music and ensemble singing.
