Britons beyond Brexit
Event Information
Description
On the afternoon 02 June 1330-1600, Dr Fiona Ferbrache (University of Oxford) and Prof. Jeremy MacClancy (Oxford Brookes University) are running a participatory event 'Britons beyond Brexit' to discuss and debate the future of Britons in France. Bringing together international academics, campaigning groups (ECREU, Fair Deal for Expats, and RiFT), the Liberal Democrats in France, and Britons living in France, this event provides a platform to exchange views and share knowledge.
The event consists of several short presentations from the above mentioned groups, including some of Fiona and Jeremy's reactions to their research and analysis so far. Throughout, there will be opportunity for questions and discussion from all.
A similar and successful meeting was recently run in Alicante, Spain, and forms part of Fiona and Jeremy's wider research examining the language of citizenship and British responses to Brexit in France and Spain. The research and event are sponsored by the ESRC: the leading UK funder of Social Science research.
