Why a Green Recovery Forum?
The economic recovery from Covid-19 presents new challenges for large parts of the world. As we recover, the decisions we make today will either lay the foundation for clean growth or lock-in polluting emissions for decades. We must embrace the opportunities offered by new, clean technology. We need to BUILD BACK BETTER.
Why UK and Poland?
The UK’s Clean Growth Partnership with Poland – the hosts of COP24 in 2018 - covers a range of bilateral activity (in areas such as offshore wind and e-mobility) to support economic growth while reducing emissions. The UK is committed to increasing climate ambition and promoting a clean, green recovery across the whole planet. We are ideal partners to achieve clean growth together, and the Green Recovery Forum will explore and showcase some exciting new sectors that offer business opportunities to both countries
Why now?
The Green Recovery Forum will take place one year before the start of COP26 in Glasgow. As host of COP26, the UK is committed to upholding the Paris Agreement, increasing climate ambition, and making sure the world comes together to accelerate towards a net-zero emissions economy.
What will the event cover?
The Green Recovery Forum will be an opportunity to:
- Hear about the big political, economic and business challenges and opportunities as we build back better, shifting to a clean growth model.
- Hear from business and other stakeholders about net-zero commitments.
- Learn about UK-Polish business opportunities on green finance, hydrogen and solar.
- Network with potential partners or customers in your area of interest.
