Event description

Description

'Britain, Palestine and the Balfour Declaration - unravelling a century'

UCLan Friends of Palestine will be hosting their first event – a lecture followed by a discussion as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration.

We are proud to have Professor Michael Lavalette as our speaker, who will be guiding us through the origins of Britain’s responsibility to the Palestinian people; resulting from the Balfour Declaration of 1917. This event will give an insight into the humanitarian crisis that the Palestinian people currently face and how this crisis is deeply rooted in the historic legislation of Britain.

Join us on Thursday, the 23rd of November at 5pm in Foster lecture theatre 2 to learn and discuss the Balfour Declaration’s many questions, its consequences, legal standing and Britain’s inclusion in supporting the oppressive regime against the Palestinians.

Date: Thursday 23rd November
Time: 5pm
Venue: Foster Lecture theatre 2 (FBLT2)
