Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Singer, pianist and improviser Briony Greenhill returns to the valley with songs of land, tribe and ancestors, songs of rooting and response in a time of droughts, floods and fires. Can the beloved Bay Area support this scale of culture now? What of we who root here, and we who leave to root elsewhere? These songs don't have the answers, but they sing us along the way.

Briony first came to the Bay in 2001 as a Political Science exchange student at UC Berkeley. Now a musician, she watches the world and sings its stories along with her own, interwoven.

With folk tunes, improvisations, compositions, and a lot of audience singalong, Briony tends to create a glow and no one quite knows what will happen.

"This is moody, lo-fi magic of the highest order." - BBC

"Your gig today was the highlight of my year." - Richard, (October)

"Briony's unique style had the hall cheering." - B&B Journal
